The most famous actors who did not receive an acting education

Talk about the most famous movie stars
Most Hollywood stars do not have an acting education, some of them have never even been involved in acting. However, this fact absolutely does not prevent them from winning the hearts of viewers, earning millions of dollars and receiving various bonuses. Resource The Richest has prepared a list of the most famous movie stars who do not have an acting education, but at the same time have won worldwide recognition.
Heath Ledger

Ledger decided to become an actor immediately after graduation. At the age of 17, together with his friend Trevor DiCarlo, he went to Sydney, where, as he believed, all dreams come true. In 1996, Ledger received the first role of a gay cyclist in a local television series, but he was noticed only in 1999, when the youth comedy “Ten Reasons for My Hatred” was released. After the role of a psychopath nicknamed the Joker in the movie “The Dark Knight” by Christopher Nolan, the actor committed suicide.

Meg Ryan

The actress did not initially think about her acting career – she was going to become a journalist, so immediately after school she entered the University of Connecticut, and then moved to New York University. To make ends meet and pay for training, Meg Ryan periodically starred in various commercials. In 1981, she appeared in the film “The Rich and Famous”, and since 1982 starred in the series “While the World Rotates.” Due to her acting career, Ryan dropped out a semester before she graduated.
Tom Cruise
One of the most famous Hollywood actors also did not learn this skill. When Cruz attended elementary school in Carleton, he took part in a drama festival with his six friends. The guys presented an impromptu piece of music called IT. The teachers praised the production, but even this moment did not become a turning point in his life. Before playing his first movie role, Cruz became a Catholic priest. He later moved to New York. In 1981, he played a small role in the film “Endless Love”, and gained fame after his role in the film “Risky Business”.
Joaquin Phoenix

For Joaquin Phoenix, an acting career began on the streets of Los Angeles, where his family moved. All children, in order to earn money and support their families, first had to sing, play or dance on the street. Later, when Joaquin’s mother got a job on the NBC channel, he began acting in commercials. The future three-time Oscar nominee played his first role in 1982 in the television film Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
Christian bale

Already at the age of nine, Bale began acting in commercials, and a year later he made his debut on the theater stage – he played in the play “The Nerd”. At the age of 16, after graduating from school, the future Oscar winner still earned his living by filming in advertising. His first full-length work was the Soviet-Scandinavian fairy tale “Myo, My Myo,” which was directed by Vladimir Grammatikov in 1987. He became widely known after his role in the thriller American Psycho. Bale later starred in The Dark Knight trilogy by Christopher Nolan. For his role in the film “The Fighter,” he received the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award.
Russell Crowe

The first role in his life, Crowe played in the Australian television series Spyforce, the producer of which at that moment was his mother’s godmother. He did not finish his studies at school – he left her at the age of 16. Already at that moment he knew that he wanted to devote his life to the acting profession. Russell Crowe played for a long time in a musical group, and after its collapse decided to enter the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney. Later, he abandoned this idea – one of his friends advised him not to waste time in vain. In 2001, Crowe received an Academy Award for his role in the film Gladiator.
Jennifer Lawrence

At age 14, Jennifer decided to become an actress and persuaded her parents to take her to New York, because there you could meet the right people. She visited several agencies that rated her acting abilities highly despite the fact that she did not have a specialized education. To act in films, Lawrence graduated from school two years earlier. The actress received one of the first roles in the series “City Company”, later there were the series “Detective Monk”, “The Billy Ingvall Show”, “Medium” and “Detective Rush”. The audience recognized her after her role in the drama The Burning Plain. Following the results of the 65th Venice Film Festival, she received a prize named after Marcello Mastroianni. The first Academy Award nomination happened in 2011 for his role in the movie Winter Bone.
