Series 2020. New in February
February is the month of the groundhog, lovers and defenders of the Fatherland, a time of vitamin deficiency and depression in anticipation of spring. To entertain and distract will help the series in the assortment. In the first half of February there are a lot of adaptations and anthologies, choose and join!
Monday February 3
“Late Term” (Channel One), a drama that could potentially become quite scandalous, tells of a diligent journalist from the province who comes to conquer Moscow and falls in love with the editor-in-chief of a famous newspaper. Soon she will have to choose between her husband and child. Alexander Lazarev, Jr., who recently appeared in the Union of Salvation, appeared in the role of editor.
“The Hunt for the Unabomber” (Spectrum) – the second season of the anthology that moved from the Discovery channel to Spectrum, was called “The Deadly Games” and tells about the bombing during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. And two months have not passed since the release of the Clint Eastwood drama “The Case of Richard Jewell” based on the same tragic events. In the series, the main roles are played by Cameron Britton and Jack Houston.
Thursday, February 6
“Interrogation” (CBS All Access) – a crime drama created according to the original concept, is based on a real story that lasted more than 30 years – the young man after the charges against him was convicted of the brutal murder of his mother. Each episode of the series is built around an interrogation taken directly from real police affairs, with the goal of turning the viewer into a detective. The first nine episodes can be watched in any order, and the final tenth episode will be released later. The main roles are played by Peter Sarsgaard, David Strathairn and Cody Smith-McPhee.
“Katie Keen” (The CW) – the premiere of the spin-off of the youth series “Riverdale”, which takes place five years later. In the new musical comedy drama, the main character, Katie Keane (Lucy Hale), is sent to New York to begin her career as a fashion designer. Along with her in New York is a friend of the Riverdale, Josie McCoy (Ashley Murray).
“Sinner” (USA) – in the third chapter of the anthology, detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) begins a routine investigation of a car accident on the outskirts of Dorchester, during which he uncovers a hidden crime – the most dangerous and shocking thing in his entire career. The main role in the new season of the thriller is played by Matt Bomer.
“Tommy” (CBS) – The plot of the crime drama is built around Abigail “Tommy” Thomas (Edie Falco), the first woman to head the Los Angeles Police Department.
The Thorns Bush (USA) – the first season of the anthology is based on Ross Thomas’s detective story The Thorny Path, which won the Edgar Allan Poe Prize. Experienced detective Allegra Dill (Rosario Dawson) returns to his hometown in Texas after the murder of her younger sister. Starting his own investigation, Allegra gradually unravels the hellish tangle with the intention of bringing the corrupt city to its knees. Like the works of Thomas, the series is a cocktail of crime and pulp fiction, humor, danger and style. Starring Jay R. Ferguson, Edie Gategi, Brian Geraty and Kim Dickens.
Friday February 7th
“Lock and Key” (Netflix) – Joe Hill’s graphic novel Locke & Key, which was published from 2008 to 2013, is finally filmed. Attempts have been made as far back as 2010, when Steven Spielberg could become a director. So, after the tragic and mysterious death of the head of the family, his widow (Derby Stanchfield) with three children moved to a family estate in Massachusetts. The mansion, as it turns out pretty soon, is fraught with many secrets – the doors are opened with magic keys that give owners special powers. But he passionately wants to seize the keys with an evil and treacherous demon.
Tuesday 11 February
“Forever” (ABC) – at the heart of the series – the real story of Isaac Wright Jr., who was serving a prison term for a crime that he did not commit. While imprisoned, he became a licensed lawyer and helped overturn the wrongful sentences of twenty of his cellmates before finally proving his own innocence.
Friday February 14th
Fanatic (Hulu) is a romantic comedy inspired by the 2000 high fidelity melodrama. The protagonist / heroine is the biggest music fan, record store owner, obsessed with pop culture and five-point lists, living in the Crown Heights area of Brooklyn, trying to figure out which point he made a mistake. Starring Zoe Kravitz and Jake Lacey.
Crash of Utopia (Hulu) – Events in a science fiction drama unfold in the near future in the seemingly idyllic colony of New Babylon. A group of teenagers selected to participate in a prestigious song and dance competition unexpectedly stumbles upon an ancient archive of historical, cultural and musical relics. This discovery makes them doubt everything they have been taught and use the power of music to initiate changes in their reality and discover the truth.
